On the occasion of the Congrès mondial acadien 2019, there will be an international gathering of the Arsenault /Arseneau / Arseneault / Arceneaux family. It will be held in Prince Edward Island’s Evangeline Region on August 17 and 18.

Acadian Golf Tournament 2019

The ACADIAN golf tournament 2019 will be held on Friday, August 16th, 2019 at the Mill River GC situated in Woodstock, Prince Edward Island. This friendly tournament is organized jointly by the Arsenault / Haché-Gallant families and the Comité régional des Jeux de l’Acadie de l’Î.-P.-É.

Would you like to explore the Evangeline Region, improve your knowledge of Island Acadian culture, and discover a few famous Arsenaults? If so, join the car rally taking place on Saturday morning, from 9:00 am to noon. Teams will leave from the Evangeline Recreation Centre parking lot in Abram-Village. Participants are asked to arrive there at 8:30 am to receive instructions.

This fun activity will involve teams. However, there is no limit to the number of participants per vehicle. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. before August 8 indicating the number of participants on your team. Prizes will be awarded to the top three teams.

10:00 am:
- Talk by archaeologist Dr. Helen Kristmanson “Archaeological Investigations at Old Malpec settled by Arsenault Families in 1728”
This talk, in English, will take place at the Green Park Provincial Park in Port Hill. It is in this region that the first Arsenaults settled on the Island in 1728. Between 2008 and 2010, provincial archaeologist Dr. Helen Kristmanson conducted excavations at a site called Pointe-aux-Vieux. In a well-illustrated presentation, she will tell us what the excavations reveal about the life of the Acadians on Malpeque Bay before the Great Upheaval.

Claude Arsenault, an enthusiastic volunteer who participated in the excavations and who lives in the region, will be there to welcome you and tell you about his discoveries in this beautiful part of the Island.

Bring your lunch basket for a picnic at lunchtime.

A social evening where Arsenaults from all over the world can meet, exchange, and sing together. There will be door prizes.

Special visitors from the other world will be attending! You will therefore have the opportunity to meet and have your picture taken with the three individuals who started the great Arsenault family in America: our ancestor Pierre Arsenault and his two wives: Marguerite Dugas and Marie Guérin.
Our ancestors will be accompanied by some other prominent Arsenaults from the past: songwriter and pioneer Julitte Arsenault from Egmont Bay; Senator Joseph-Octave Arsenault, Judge Aubin E. Arsenault and Father Pierre-Paul Arsenault.

Others activities
1) Visit the Arsenault genealogy research room located at the Evangeline Recreation Centre.
2) Exhibition of family photo montages prepared by the participants at the reunion. An opportunity to see Arsenault faces from all over.
3) Self-guided visits. A pamphlet will be available containing a list of places to visit in Prince Edward Island related to the Arsenaults.

Throughout the afternoon, there will be a great gathering of the Arsenaults with music (open mic for Arsenault musicians and singers), a pole climbing show (the Léo à Jos Tanis), games for young and old, various workshops, sales stands, lectures, etc.

Special visitors from the other world will be present, namely our ancestor Pierre Arsenault and his two wives, Marguerite Dugas and Marie Guérin. They will be accompanied by songwriter and pioneer of Egmont Bay, Julitte Arsenault; Senator Joseph-Octave Arsenault, Judge Aubin E. Arsenault and Father Pierre-Paul Arsenault.

The Evangeline Region

The Evangeline Region is located in the western part of the Island approximately 28 km from the city of Summerside. It is made up of several small villages including Abram-Village where most of the Arsenault Reunion activities will be held.

Terre-Rouge Camping Ground

The Terre-Rouge campground is located next to the agricultural exhibition grounds in Abram-Village, where most of the reunion activities will take place.
