Mallet family members from around the world will meet during the Congrès mondial acadien 2019. Celebrating the large number of descendants of Jean Mallet (son of François de Bouillon of Normandy and his wife Marie-Josephte Duguay (daughter of René and Marguerite Lebreton) from Shippagan.

During the two-day reunion :
Coffee and chatting on site. Kiosks : genealogy, book sales, promotional material, exhibits, 50/50 tickets for a hand-made quilt, information on the Mallet monument. Photo opportunities, contests or mini-rally. Mallet photo albums will also be available for perusal and film projections throughout the day.

Sunday, August 18th

8:30 am – 1: 30 pm: 
- Registration and hand-out of information kits to the first 100 persons having pre-registered. (Deadline to receive the kit is July 15th)

10:30 am:
- Mass at the Saint-Joseph catholic church (415, Main street, Shediac) co-celebrated with Father Jean-Bernard Mallais.

12:00 pm – 1:30 pm:
- Lunch on your own

1: 30 pm – 2:30 pm:
- Welcoming words from reunion organiser Maria Mallet and Lucie Mallet, chair of the Association des familles Mallet d’Amérique Inc.
- Official opening – details of the next two days activities
- Details for the genealogy workshops
- Testimonial of an elder
- Annual General Meeting of the Association des familles Mallet d’Amérique Inc.

1 pm – 5: 30 pm:
- Simultaneous activities in the Multifunctional Centre and the schoolyard at École MFB – next door.

1 pm:
- Genealogy display with Lowell Mallais and Caroline Mallais

2 pm:
- Torlu (ancient game) demonstration

3 pm:
- Conference 1 – Why did the Duguay, Mallet and Robichaud families emigrate from Gaspesia to Grand Chipagan - Marc-André Comeau

5: 30 pm – 7 pm:
- Acadian supper ($$)

7 pm – 7: 30 pm:
- Improvised choir on site – Interpretations of traditional songs accompanied by an accordion player.

7: 30 pm – 11 pm:
- Show with musical artists from the Mallet, Duguay and Robichaud families 15$


Monday, August 19th

- Coffee and chat and get-together – Browse the kiosks
